THIS visit will strengthen relations between our two countries even more,” affirmed Wu Bangguo, member of the Permanent Committee of the Political Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party and president of the Permanent Committee of the 11th National People’s Assembly, who arrived in Havana for an official and friendly visit pearl earrings yesterday, in response to an invitation from Cuba’s National Assembly of People’s Power.

Bangguo, who is in the country until September 3, was welcomed at the José Martí International Airport by Ricardo Alarcón, president of Parliament.

In a written statement, the Chinese leader noted that the visit of President Hu Jintao last year gave cultured pearl jewelry added impetus to mutual links in all aspects.

He emphasized his plans for wide-ranging talks with Cuban leaders on bilateral matters and issues of interest, and his conviction that the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two Parties, states and peoples would continue developing.
