| Cape Town - Government must intervene in the management of fisheries in South Africa, Water and Environmental Affairs Minister Buyelwa Sonjica said on twisted pearl necklace Tuesday. "Fish stocks are declining globally and this poses a serious challenge to fisheries' management in South Africa," said the minister in a speech prepared for delivery at a celebration of national marine month in Mitchells Plain in Cape Town. "It is therefore critical that a government-wide intervention in the coastal communities to address coastal poverty and alternative livelihood opportunities in light of declining fish stocks is implemented as a matter of akoya pearl necklace urgency." A balance must be found between ensuring the sustainable development of marine resources and ensuring a sustainable livelihood for communities, traditionally reliant on fishing. | Durban - A Grade 11 pupil was stabbed in a robbery at Overport Secondary School near Durban on pearl earrings Tuesday, said KwaZulu-Natal paramedics. Netcare 911 spokesperson Jeff Wicks said the boy was in a critical condition after he was stabbed on Tuesday afternoon. "While what transpired is unclear, the boy alleges that he was loose pearl accosted by two men within the school premises." They tried to rob him and when he resisted, they stabbed him twice, he said. | Durban - IFP national chairwoman Zanele Magwaza-Msibi was not forced to decline nominations for the party’s presidency position, the party said on Tuesday. “No one pushed her. She did it out of silver pearl sets her own volition and we respect her decision,” said Inkatha Freedom Party deputy spokesperson Thulasizwe Buthelezi at a media briefing in Durban. Magwaza-Msibi told the IFP national council in Ulundi at the weekend that she would not accept nominations for the presidency position which had been occupied by Dr Mangosuthu Buthelezi for more than 30 years. Her decision to decline nominations came after fierce lobbying for multi strand necklace Buthelezi’s position ahead of the party’s elective conference in April next year. Magwaza-Msibi’s name was also mentioned as a preferred candidate to replace Buthelezi.
